While the Gemstone estate is rooted in 16 acres on the Yountville benches, you will find that Facets offers a broader exploration of Napa Valley’s character. Crafted by winemaker Julien Fayard, this selection draws from premier vineyards in Yountville and Oak Knoll to deliver a wine defined by its immediate yet sophisticated appeal. In the 2022 vintage, you can expect heady aromas of violets, rose petals, and sweet candied red fruit layered over subtle dusty minerals. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and polished, featuring velvety, fine-grained tannins and a balanced cedarwood sweetness that leads into a finish of crushed cacao nibs. After 18 months in 40% new French oak, it has reached a seamless harmony of richness and elegance that you can enjoy right now.

Returns & Exchanges

We stand behind every bottle we sell.

  • If the wine is less than 10 years old and it is corked, you may return it to us for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase. You must show us proof of purchase. We understand that you may not live near a shop and that it is difficult to ship open bottles of wine to us, so if there's any problem feel free to Contact Us and we'll work it out.
  • For wines older than 10 years, the consumer bears the risk of a faulty cork, but we accept returns of older bottles if the wine is faulty as a result of improper storage. Please come by the store or Contact Us if there is a problem.
  • We may, at our discretion and to the extent permitted by law, accept returns of unopened wines within 30 days of purchase if they were properly stored by the purchaser, subject to a 15% re-stocking fee.

"The Gemstone estate vineyard spans 6.5 hectares (16 acres) on the western benches of Yountville. Still, Facets is Gemstone’s non-estate wine, crafted from carefully selected vineyards in Yountville and Oak Knoll by winemaker Julien Fayard, who took the helm in 2021. The 2022 Facets is a crowd-pleaser with upfront appeal, offering heady aromas of violets, rose petals, sweet candied red berry fruit, and dusty minerals. The velvety, fine-grained tannins are seamlessly integrated on the palate, giving the wine a polished texture. Full-bodied and rich, it features expressive, balanced cedarwood sweetness and finishes with notes of crushed cacao nibs. Grapes are gently pressed directly into barrels for fermentation and aged up to 18 months in 40% new French oak. The 2022 vintage is approachable now and perfect for drinking, while the more structured 2021s continue to develop, delivering a harmonious balance of richness, elegance, and immediate gratification."
