Vermouth from the foothills of the Andes, and it's pink. La Fuerza has been bottling in Mendoza since 2018, and Primavera is their spring cuvee: a base of Torrontes, Argentina's most perfumed white grape, infused with fourteen botanicals, herbs and flowers gathered in the Andean foothills, with hibiscus doing the coloring work. The result is floral and exotic rather than dark and bittersweet, closer in spirit to a bianco or rosato vermouth than to a brooding Torino red. The best use is the obvious one: over ice, topped with soda or tonic, a wedge of grapefruit, no overthinking required. It's also lovely on its own straight from the fridge when you want something with a little alcohol but not much. Keep it refrigerated once it's open, though. This is wine-based, and it won't wait around forever.
