Meet Jancis Robinson, MW: Tasting Ticket, 10/7/2026

$3500

Pickup available at San Francisco

Usually ready in 24 hours

We are delighted to host Jancis Robinson, legendary wine writer, critic, and educator, for a talk, tasting, and book signing.

What: A tasting and conversation with Jancis Robinson, celebrating the new and expanded 9th Edition of The World Atlas of Wine, by Hugh Johnson, Jancis Robinson, and Julia Harding

When: Wednesday, October 7 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Where: Flatiron Wines & Spirits, 2 New Montgomery St, San Francisco, CA 94105

Cost: $35 for the tasting. The World Atlas of Wine is $75, or $60 for tasting ticket holders.

Jancis has given us some of the best English-language wine writing of the last few decades on her website, JancisRobinson.com, as the wine columnist at the Financial Times, and in indispensable books including Wine Grapes and The Oxford Companion to Wine.

But no wine book gets pulled off the shelf more often at Flatiron than The World Atlas of Wine. And the new 9th Edition is an essential update, with 18 new maps covering favorite Flatiron regions like the Côte des Bar, Valtellina, and Chianti Classico's UGAs.

We can't wait to open some of our favorite wines with Jancis. She'll share her thoughts on the Atlas and the wine world at large, talk about the wines, and answer your questions before signing books.

Want a signed copy? The signing is reserved for copies purchased through Flatiron Wines & Spirits. Ticket holders pay $60 rather than $75 — add the Atlas to your order, or pick one up at the shop that evening.

Then stay for a second tasting. Your ticket also includes our tasting with Six Cloves Wines in the wine bar, running from 5 to 7 p.m., so the room is already pouring when the talk wraps. Winemaker Sonoe Hirabayashi will be there with her wines. Born in Nagano to a family of sake, soy, and miso makers, she trained at UC Davis and learned under Ted Lemon, Steve Matthiasson, and Dard & Ribo in the Northern Rhône — and it shows. These are wines built for elegance and transparency rather than power, kindred spirits with the sensibility Jancis has championed for decades. No second ticket, no upcharge.

We hope you can join us on Wednesday, October 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. Seating is limited.
