Pinhook treats bourbon like wine, releasing a new vintage each year rather than chasing an identical house flavor forever. The 2024 Flagship is the orange wax bottling, blended by Sean Josephs from whiskey distilled at Castle & Key in Frankfort, Kentucky on a mash bill of 75% corn, 15% rye and 10% malted barley, bottled at 98 proof. That proof point is deliberate: high enough to stand up in an Old Fashioned, mellow enough to drink neat without water. Each year's release shifts slightly with the barrels, which is the whole idea. Sip it over ice or pour it into cocktails without guilt.
