A complete reboot of what Malvasia usually tastes like. Sourced from the fog drenched coast, this skips the flabby tropical fruit and goes straight for intense, aromatic tension: crushed jasmine, bitter grapefruit peel, beeswax, and sea salt. It has a surprisingly dense, waxy skin weight on the middle of your tongue, immediately snapped back by crisp, sea breeze acidity.

Returns & Exchanges

We stand behind every bottle we sell.

  • If the wine is less than 10 years old and it is corked, you may return it to us for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase. You must show us proof of purchase. We understand that you may not live near a shop and that it is difficult to ship open bottles of wine to us, so if there's any problem feel free to Contact Us and we'll work it out.
  • For wines older than 10 years, the consumer bears the risk of a faulty cork, but we accept returns of older bottles if the wine is faulty as a result of improper storage. Please come by the store or Contact Us if there is a problem.
  • We may, at our discretion and to the extent permitted by law, accept returns of unopened wines within 30 days of purchase if they were properly stored by the purchaser, subject to a 15% re-stocking fee.

Leave the trendy wine bars of Lisbon – the hippest capital in Europe – and head west, and you will come across the vineyards of Quinta de San Michel. But you might think you have taken a wrong turn and ended up at the beach. In the tiny, historic appellation of Colares, the vines do not grow on tidy rows on slopes of clay or limestone. They crawl across deep sand dunes, battered by the salty winds of the Atlantic Ocean.

It is one of the most extreme terroirs in the world, and it produces one of Portugal's most singular white wines: Malvasia de Colares.

This is not the sweet, simple Malvasia you might know from other parts of the Mediterranean. Grown here, in the sand and sea spray, the grape transforms into something fierce, mineral, and profoundly savory. These are wines that don't just pair with seafood; they taste like the ocean itself.
