"Vin de Soif" means wine for thirst, and this is the bottle that launched the label — a red built for gulping, not contemplating: low in alcohol, high in crunch, high on freshness. It's a Gamay-led blend with Grolleau Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, drawn from Jean-Pierre Guedon's organically farmed vines at Domaine Les Hautes Noelles in Muscadet Cotes de Grandlieu, south of Nantes, plus fruit bought from elsewhere in the Loire. The winemaking is low-intervention throughout, which is why it tastes like fruit rather than furniture. Vines run from ten to sixty years old, so there's a bit more depth here than the easy-drinking brief strictly requires. Guedon's Muscadet range is Ecocert-certified organic; the fruit for this red is farmed the same way without carrying the certification. Put it in the fridge for twenty minutes — that's the intention behind the whole project — and don't overthink it.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Grilled merguez or lamb chops off the coals, roast chicken with frites, a charcuterie board with cornichons, grilled mackerel or sardines, lentil salad with bacon and mustard vinaigrette, or a hearty frisee-and-lardon salad.

Tasting Profile

Bright, juicy red fruit — raspberry, cherry, a little cranberry snap — with a floral, peppery edge from the Grolleau. Light-bodied and low in alcohol, with fresh acidity and soft, barely-there tannins. The fruit is clean and unadorned. Finishes short, tart and refreshing, which is the point. Best served slightly chilled.
