Alpamanta Pet Nat Breva Criolla Mendoza 2022

Alpamanta's Breva captures ancestral sparkling winemaking at its most honest: Criolla Grande grapes from a 40-year-old, organically managed vineyard fermented into bubbles using the ancestral method, no added sulfites, no shortcuts. The result is cherry-red effervescence with aromas of fresh cherries, currants, and raspberries giving way to plum and blackberry on the palate. Fine bubbles deliver a refreshing finish to what begins as an inviting, slightly sweet entry. This is indigenous fermentation, old vine complexity, and New World spontaneity in one bottle.

Returns & Exchanges

We stand behind every bottle we sell.

  • If the wine is less than 10 years old and it is corked, you may return it to us for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase. You must show us proof of purchase. We understand that you may not live near a shop and that it is difficult to ship open bottles of wine to us, so if there's any problem feel free to Contact Us and we'll work it out.
  • For wines older than 10 years, the consumer bears the risk of a faulty cork, but we accept returns of older bottles if the wine is faulty as a result of improper storage. Please come by the store or Contact Us if there is a problem.
  • We may, at our discretion and to the extent permitted by law, accept returns of unopened wines within 30 days of purchase if they were properly stored by the purchaser, subject to a 15% re-stocking fee.

"The 2022 Pet Nat Criolla Grande Breva is from Ugarteche. Vivid in the glass, somewhere between purple and fuchsia. The nose presents cherry, white pepper, herbs and sour cherry. It's slightly tannic – due to the variety – which is enhanced by the gas. A summery, gastronomic wine with a well-defined fruity flavor and an acidic kick at the end. The finish is pure sour cherry. "Made of Criolla grapes from Luján de Cuyo, this pét-nat shows berry notes that are typical of the variety. The nose is austere, but the palate is more generous in fruit flavors. Strawberries fill the mouth as a dash of herbs adds savoriness to the finish."
