Andreola Prosecco Valdobbiadene Rive di Soligo Mas de Fer 2023

Mas de Fer takes its name from Col de Fer, the iron hill above Soligo where Andreola farms this five-hectare cru across two hilltops. It sits high for Valdobbiadene, between 300 and 500 meters, on calcareous conglomerate so eroded that in places the topsoil runs barely 40 centimeters deep, and the slopes are sheer enough that hand-harvesting is the only option. The altitude is the point: it buys acidity, which is what lets Andreola finish the wine Extra Dry, at 14 grams of sugar, without it turning soft or sweet. Rive is Valdobbiadene's equivalent of a cru designation, reserved for the 43 named hillsides in the DOCG, and this family estate in Col San Martino built its name on bottling them one by one. Rounder and more generous than Andreola's Brut bottlings, and the better bet if you like a little flesh on your bubbles.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Prosciutto di San Daniele, fritto misto, spicy Thai or Sichuan dishes, or a wedge of young Asiago.

Tasting Profile

White flowers, citrus and green apple with a hint of white peach. Light-bodied with fine, persistent bubbles, gently off-dry at Extra Dry level, and enough acidity to keep it crisp. Creamy texture, clean finish.
