Azul y Garanza Navarra Naturaleza Salvaje Blanco 2024

$2999

Garnacha Blanca grown on the edge of the Bardenas Reales, the semi-desert badlands of southern Navarra where barely any rain falls and the nights turn cold. Maria, Fer and Dani work out of a converted village cooperative in Carcastillo and treat their plots as landscapes rather than vineyards, farming certified organic and counting the surrounding scrub, trees and insect life as part of what makes the grapes. This comes from one site, San Isidro del Pinar, roughly 30-year-old vines on clay-limestone soils at 550 metres. Hand-picked, fermented with wild yeast and given five days on the skins, it then spends six months in amphora, enough contact to lend grip and a faint tannic edge without tipping into a full orange wine. Serve it cool rather than ice-cold.
