Returns & Exchanges

We stand behind every bottle we sell.

  • If the wine is less than 10 years old and it is corked, you may return it to us for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase. You must show us proof of purchase. We understand that you may not live near a shop and that it is difficult to ship open bottles of wine to us, so if there's any problem feel free to Contact Us and we'll work it out.
  • For wines older than 10 years, the consumer bears the risk of a faulty cork, but we accept returns of older bottles if the wine is faulty as a result of improper storage. Please come by the store or Contact Us if there is a problem.
  • We may, at our discretion and to the extent permitted by law, accept returns of unopened wines within 30 days of purchase if they were properly stored by the purchaser, subject to a 15% re-stocking fee.

More about Champalou

Domaine Champalou presides over 20 hectares in Vouvray, which is the Touraine region of the Loire, and is run by the dynamic Catherine Champalou. The domaine’s vineyards are planted on mostly clay, limestone, and siliceous soils. They embrace sustainable farming while also integrating the use of the lunar calendar more traditionally associated with organic viticulture. The family has been at the estate for nearly 20 years and during that time their wines have gained an excellent reputation for their aromatic, elegant, and balanced expressions of Chenin Blanc.

<p>Blend: Chenin Blanc</br>Winemaker: Catherine & Didier Champalou</br>Vineyard: 20 years average, 3.5 ha</br>Soil: Clay, Limestone</br>Farming: Sustainable</br>Alcohol: 13.5%</br>Harvest occurs early in the morning and the fruit is then immediately pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel cuves. A low temperature is kept while the wine is raised on fine lees in the cuve for eleven months and then is bottled in September.</p>
