This humble Bourgogne Rouge punches far above its station because of who makes it. Denis Bachelet has run his tiny four-hectare Gevrey-Chambertin estate almost single-handedly since 1983, building a cult reputation for finesse and perfume. His Bourgogne comes from vines just outside the village lines and gets the same painstaking, low-intervention care as his grand crus. The 2023 is silky, pure, and gloriously drinkable young. It's the most accessible way into one of the Cote de Nuits' most quietly revered cellars.

Returns & Exchanges

We stand behind every bottle we sell.

If the wine is less than 10 years old and it is corked, you may return it to us for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase. You must show us proof of purchase. We understand that you may not live near a shop and that it is difficult to ship open bottles of wine to us, so if there's any problem feel free to Contact Us and we'll work it out.
For wines older than 10 years, the consumer bears the risk of a faulty cork, but we accept returns of older bottles if the wine is faulty as a result of improper storage. Please come by the store or Contact Us if there is a problem.
We may, at our discretion and to the extent permitted by law, accept returns of unopened wines within 30 days of purchase if they were properly stored by the purchaser, subject to a 15% re-stocking fee.

Modest - even humble - Denis Bachelet has been working at the family domaine all his life - his first vintage was in 1982. The farming is meticulous, the vines are ancient and the yields are very low. Every single grape is scrutinized. They have striking purity regardless of appellation and can age for a decade or more.
