This is Fierce & Kind's Limited Pride Release — the same straight bourbon the San Diego brand makes year-round, in a bottle that says the quiet part out loud, with 25% of the profits going to The San Diego LGBT Community Center. The liquid inside is aged just shy of four years, distilled from locally sourced grains with a healthy slug of rye in the mash, and bottled at 86 proof. It drinks warm and easy: caramel, vanilla, baked apple, a peppery rye kick, and a finish that stays smooth instead of hot. Good neat, better in an Old Fashioned, and about as good as a gift with a message attached gets.
