Gamet is a rising star in the Vallée de la Marne, where Pinot Meunier thrives on the region’s clay-limestone soils. The family has been crafting expressive, terroir-driven Champagnes for four generations, with a focus on organic farming and minimal intervention. Rive Droite is a Blanc de Noirs cuvée made from 100% Pinot Meunier, sourced from vines planted in the 1950s on the right bank of the Marne River. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in a combination of stainless steel and oak, this wine is bottled with a low dosage to highlight its pure, fruit-forward expression.

The nose is vibrant and complex, revealing notes of red apple, pear skin, and citrus peel, interwoven with hints of white pepper and toasted hazelnut. The palate is broad and textured, yet lifted by Meunier’s signature acidity, offering layers of orchard fruit, wet stone, and a saline finish that lingers elegantly. The combination of bright energy and deep structure makes this a compelling expression of the variety.

*Rive Droite* is an excellent companion to a wide range of dishes, from charcuterie and roasted chicken to creamy cheeses like Brie de Meaux. Its balance of richness and freshness also makes it a standout aperitif Champagne, showcasing the depth of Pinot Meunier in its purest form.

Two families have come together from either side of the Marne river find a deeper understanding of their terroir. Not only are they growing grapes, they focus on farming other food crops, cider making, and keeping the protection of their cherished environment above all else.

The wines are fresh and appealing, light on their feet with nice textural elements and great complexity for the price. This is thanks to having a lot of land with a wide variation in exposition, elevation and soil type, and all three grapes. They can craft delicious bottles of bubbles out of their cellar in Côte sud d'Epernay, and we are happy to offer them here first.

"Gamet,s NV Extra Brut Blanc des Noirs Rive Droite (2020 base) is bright, effusive and full of character. Dried pear, kirsch, cinnamon, dried flowers and nuts all grace this silky, understated Champagne, comprised of 85% Meunier and 15% Pinot Noir from Fleury-la-RiviŠre and Damery. The dosage feels a bit low to me (5 grams per liter), but otherwise, this is nicely done. Aeration helps pull this together." -Vinous
