Returns & Exchanges

We stand behind every bottle we sell.

  • If the wine is less than 10 years old and it is corked, you may return it to us for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase. You must show us proof of purchase. We understand that you may not live near a shop and that it is difficult to ship open bottles of wine to us, so if there's any problem feel free to Contact Us and we'll work it out.
  • For wines older than 10 years, the consumer bears the risk of a faulty cork, but we accept returns of older bottles if the wine is faulty as a result of improper storage. Please come by the store or Contact Us if there is a problem.
  • We may, at our discretion and to the extent permitted by law, accept returns of unopened wines within 30 days of purchase if they were properly stored by the purchaser, subject to a 15% re-stocking fee.

"The 2021 Guímaro Meixemán, also 70% Mencía from the Meixemán parcel, was aged for one year in barrels and foudres. It opens with sanguine raspberry, elderberry and light plum notes, framed by a hint of herbs. On the palate, it is lean, vibrant and clean, with a long finish and a light structure. "The single-vineyard 2021 Finca Meixeman, produced with the grapes from one of the oldest family vineyards with soils of granite and slate, showed superb. It's perfumed, subtle and ethereal, light to medium-bodied but with lots of energy and light. It's 70% Mencía with 30% other grapes and achieved a moderate 13% alcohol in this cooler and rainier year whose freshness is reflected in the wine here. It fermented with 65% full clusters and had a 50-day maceration, then it aged in used 225- and 500-liter French oak barrels for 10 to 12 months." —Luis Gutiérrez

More about Guimaro

Guimaro, a Galician family nickname meaning 'rebel,' is a fitting name for this estate in the Amandi zone of Ribeira Sacra. In 1991 Manolo and Carmen Rodríguez turned their bulk-wine farm into a bottled estate, and their son Pedro took over around 2001. Soon after, Bierzo's Raúl Pérez began consulting, nudging them toward wild yeasts, whole clusters and large old casks. The family farms organically on steep, south-facing slate terraces above the Sil, making Mencía that helped put Ribeira Sacra on the map. Imported by José Pastor.
