A bone-dry pink from a grower who made her name by refusing to sweeten things up: Osé is a Brut Nature, meaning zero dosage, with the local red grape Marzemino added for color. Cinzia Canzian started her estate at Vittorio Veneto, in the province of Treviso, in 2004. Before that she spent nearly twenty years at her husband's winery and at the Prosecco consortium, and she named the place for her grandmother Alice, whose osteria she still remembers. When the market moved toward sweeter Extra Dry, she stuck with the natural, dry style, which raises a fair question about what "traditional" Prosecco from the 1950s and '60s actually tasted like. Her Brut Nature wines were the first from the Prosecco area to really get sommeliers and wine lovers looking at it as an alternative to Champagne with food. That's a serious track record, but don't save Osé for a special occasion. It's the aperitivo bottle for anyone who finds most pink fizz too sugary.

More about

Prosecco can sometimes be dismissed as a cheap mimosa mixer and often overlooked as a serious sparkling wine. Le Vigne di Alice is an artisanal grower producer and one of these examples. Made in the champagne method, these wines embody the terroir and spirit of the vineyards in which they are planted.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

Venetian cicchetti: baccalà mantecato on grilled polenta, sopressa and prosciutto, fried sardines. Also fritto misto, salmon crudo, or a white pizza with mortadella and pistachio.

Tasting Profile

Expect a bone-dry, zero-dosage pink: Glera typically brings green apple, pear and white-flower aromas, while Marzemino adds a touch of wild strawberry and redcurrant. It should be light-bodied and crisp, with bright, mouthwatering acidity and a clean, dry finish with no sugary edge, making it a natural aperitivo bottle.
