Marisa Cuomo Costa d'Amalfi Fiorduva Bianco 2023

$9999

Heroic viticulture on the Amalfi Coast's vertiginous terraces yields an Italian icon in this blend of rare indigenous grapes: Fenile, Ginestra, and Ripoli. Deep golden with exotic aroma, the 2023 unleashes apricot, broom flowers, and Mediterranean honey. On the palate: soft density, ripe stone fruit, candied citrus, and raisiny depth create an enveloping, almost voluptuous experience. A wine redolent of the cliffside where vines cling and sea breezes define the microclimate.

"This is one of my all-time favorite southern Italian wines, made with 40% Ripoli, 30% Fenile and 30% Ginestra and aged in French barrique. As someone who regularly vacations on the Amalfi Coast, the Marisa Cuomo 2023 Costa d'Amalfi Furore Bianco Fiorduva is the bottle that brings me back to vacation bliss (even if tasted in the heart of winter). I love the salinity and the carefree peachy fruit. This hot vintage is a little denser than past editions, but the wine still takes me back to beach umbrellas, crescent coves and epic grilled fish dinners. Production is 32,000 bottles. This wine always has a distinctive richness and silkiness. I love it." —Monica Larner

More about Marisa Cuomo

Marisa Cuomo, long with her husband Andrea Ferraioli and oenologist Luigi Moio and a team of family and friends, are capturing the very essence of the unique combination of the sea, the rocks and the sun that makes Amalfi both a global tourist destination and a distinct terroir for wine.

They purchased the estate, known as Gran Furor Divina Costiera, in 1980. The original cantina was established in 1942 as a community co-op and label that was focused on producing and marketing the region's unique wines. Along with the iconic, terraced vineyards of this commune midway between Positano and Amalfi, they also farm similar sites in the commune of Ravello a few miles down the coast.
