Sourced from old vines in Mendocino County, this Pinot Noir leans heavily into an elegant, old school California style defined by restraint and purity. It offers a gorgeously translucent ruby color and a delicate bouquet of wild raspberries, forest floor, and black tea, supported by bright, natural acidity and fine grained, silk smooth tannins that provide beautiful structure without weight.

Returns & Exchanges

We stand behind every bottle we sell.

  • If the wine is less than 10 years old and it is corked, you may return it to us for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase. You must show us proof of purchase. We understand that you may not live near a shop and that it is difficult to ship open bottles of wine to us, so if there's any problem feel free to Contact Us and we'll work it out.
  • For wines older than 10 years, the consumer bears the risk of a faulty cork, but we accept returns of older bottles if the wine is faulty as a result of improper storage. Please come by the store or Contact Us if there is a problem.
  • We may, at our discretion and to the extent permitted by law, accept returns of unopened wines within 30 days of purchase if they were properly stored by the purchaser, subject to a 15% re-stocking fee.

More about Onward

Like many great winemakers, Faith Armstrong personifies the qualities that are present in her wines; honest, vibrant, unfiltered, true to her origins, bright, and complex. We have been huge fans of her single varietal wines under the label Onward (named after the small boat that took her from her childhood home on a tiny British Columbia island to school every day) since the shop opened.

To Faith the vineyards and the people that farm them are everything. She has formed long-term collaborative relationships with growers at Hawkeye Ranch, Cerise Vineyard, Capp Inn Ranch, Casa Roja Vineyard, Ledgewood Vineyard, Knox Vineyard and Babcock Vineyard. All of these sights are old-vine and dry-farmed and lovingly cared for by the families that own them. Faith chooses to pick her fruit early to retain balance always trying to find that moment when the vineyard most truthfully represents itself.

Her winemaking style is as unpretentious as she is. Her decisions are based on what she believes the vineyards and vintage call for. This is where her sharp intuition and years of experience come into relief. There is so much vibrancy and energy in every bottle and while all her wines are true to their variety, they are all uniquely delicious. Faith is one of those rare creatures who enormous talent and skill is matched by her generosity of spirit and infectious joy. We are very proud to represent her work.
