Burghound

90 points

"Oeil de perdrix color introduces a fresh and mildly fruity nose of strawberry and raspberry scents where additional breadth is present in the form of yeast and citrus nuances. The cool and relatively crisp middle weight flavors possess good if not better depth before culminating in a relatively dry finish that is shaped by moderately firm effervescence. This is certainly very pretty but not particularly deep." —Allen Meadows

Antonio Galloni

91 points

"Bright orange-pink. Fresh red berry and blood orange on the nose and in the mouth. Juicy and expansive, with a seamless texture and slow-building spiciness. Emphatically fruity, with strong finishing punch and lingering floral and buttered toast qualities." —Vinous

More about Paul Bara

Paul Bara was one of the very first Kermit Lynch Champagnes to appear on our shores, back in 1975!

Paul was a champion of Champagne, a published historian of Bouzy, and a founding member of the Trésors de Champagne (the producer-group responsible for Special Club bottlings). Today, his daughter Chantale is the 9th generation responsible for crafting their hand-made artisanal wines from the family’s 11 hectares of vines.

Their cellar is a wonder to behold, hand-dug into the chalk, 33 feet down. It’s the perfect environment for aging bubbles with constant cool temperatures, adequate humidity and stability. The wines are classics, showcasing the luxurious, structured and powerful fruit from the Grand Cru of Bouzy in the Montagne de Reims.
