*Les Folies de la Marquetterie* is one of Taittinger’s most distinctive Champagnes, named after the historic château and vineyard surrounding the estate. This cuvée is a blend of predominantly Pinot Noir with Chardonnay, sourced from old vines on the south-facing slopes of the Marquetterie vineyard. Unlike Taittinger’s classic stainless steel vinification, this wine is partially aged in oak, adding a rich, textured quality that sets it apart.
The nose is inviting and complex, with aromas of ripe stone fruit, baked apple, and toasted brioche, complemented by hints of vanilla and spice from the oak aging. The palate is round and generous, revealing flavors of poached pear, citrus zest, and a subtle nutty character, all balanced by a vibrant acidity and a long, creamy finish.
A wonderful Champagne for food pairings, *Les Folies de la Marquetterie* shines alongside roasted poultry, mushroom risotto, or even a classic tarte tatin. A beautifully textured expression of Taittinger’s craftsmanship, offering both power and elegance.
