Domaine de Sulauze Coteaux d’Aix en Provence Rose Pitchounette 2025

Translating affectionately to "sweet little one," this rosé's inaugural release marks an exciting new chapter for the estate, created as a collaborative micro négociant project by the vineyard employees themselves. Sourced from organically farmed, employee owned plots in an adjacent valley in St Martigues, the 2025 vintage highlights the collective skill of the crew while offering an approachable, true to place expression of Provençal terroir. A direct press co fermentation of Grenache, Counoise, and Mourvèdre, the fruit is fermented with native yeasts in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks without fining or filtration to capture its raw coastal energy. It pours a pale peach color, opening with high toned aromas of tart red currant, watermelon rind, wild thyme, and crushed gravel. The palate is light bodied, electric, and distinctly savory, backed by a crisp, saline driven acidity that makes it dangerously drinkable alongside grilled sardines, goat cheese crostini, or a classic Provençal bouillabaisse.

More about Domaine de Sulauze

Not far from the tourist hub of Aix-en-Provence, down a series of idyllic, winding roads is the village of Miramas. Here, you’ll find the outstanding biodynamic farm known as Domaine de Sulauze.

In 2004, Guillaume and Karina Lefèvre took advantage of a French government program encouraging young people to return to traditional agricultural areas and purchased the 29 hectare property. They immediately began converting the farming first to organic and ultimately to biodynamic. Today, they have ancient olive trees, rows and rows of vibrant vegetable gardens, and fields of hops, barley, and wheat for use at their onsite biodynamic brewery, Brasserie Sulauze.

But the real focus of Domaine de Sulauze has always been wine, and they produce some of the region’s very best.
