Returns & Exchanges

We stand behind every bottle we sell.

  • If the wine is less than 10 years old and it is corked, you may return it to us for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase. You must show us proof of purchase. We understand that you may not live near a shop and that it is difficult to ship open bottles of wine to us, so if there's any problem feel free to Contact Us and we'll work it out.
  • For wines older than 10 years, the consumer bears the risk of a faulty cork, but we accept returns of older bottles if the wine is faulty as a result of improper storage. Please come by the store or Contact Us if there is a problem.
  • We may, at our discretion and to the extent permitted by law, accept returns of unopened wines within 30 days of purchase if they were properly stored by the purchaser, subject to a 15% re-stocking fee.

"The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaumonts 1er Cru has a slight reduction on the nose. Red plum, raspberry, and bergamot scents mingle with sous-bois and Indian ink. It is understated at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, tautness and freshness. This is one of the more mineral-driven Premier Crus from the appellation. Fine tension, this contains plenty of nascent energy, with a dash of cracked black pepper livening things up. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting." —Neal Martin

"The wine is perhaps initially a bit closed and less approachable, but on the palate it reveals its substantial nature, a silky, fine-grained texture and plenty of fruit that comes out on the impressive finish. With a bit of age, this should be top-notch. The virtue of Beaumonts is the elevation, particularly in a hot year. Here the 0.3ha of old vines are planted in very thin soils at the top of the slope."

Burgundy domaines are reinvigorated, even reborn, when a new generation joins a venerable establishment. When Alain Hudelot-Noellat retired in 2008 his grandson Charles Van Canneyt took over the reins; since then Hudelot-Noellat has just gotten better and better. The wine quality, which was always very good, has risen dramatically. Like many of the new generation of Burgundian winemakers, Charles focuses on meticulous grape farming and limiting yield in the vineyards - quantities are lower but the quality is greatly improved.
