Jerome Fornerot Hautes Cotes de Beaune Blanc 2024

$3599

Jerome Fornerot founded his domaine in Saint-Aubin in 2004, and over the years has built a stark stylistic consistency across his whites - precise, mineral, never overworked. The Hautes-Cotes-de-Beaune Blanc comes from parcels in Saint-Aubin (the first acquired in 2013), sitting at higher elevation than his village wines. The cool perch translates into a bright, energetic Chardonnay with real freshness and a generous serving of fruit. Honest, well-made white Burgundy without any of the bells and whistles - exactly the kind of wine the appellation should produce, and exactly the kind of value Burgundy lovers should be chasing right now.

"The 2024 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Blanc has a very light nose with touches of green apple and pear. The palate is well balanced with fine yellow plum and citrus peel notes, building towards the harmonious easy-going finish. Fine." —Neal Martin

More about Jerome Fornerot

Domaine Jérôme Fornerot traditionally sold off their grapes to négociants. But because of all those Burgundy price hikes, it has finally become economically feasible for them to produce and bottle their own wines. In fact, they are now able to invest in a larger and better wine-making facility, promising even higher quality in the future.
