Jerome Fornerot Santenay Rouge Les Charmes 2023

$4699

Les Charmes sits in the southwestern part of Santenay village, where deep clay-marl soils give Pinot Noir real depth without losing energy. Fornerot's blocks here were planted between 1960 and 2000 and have become one of his calling cards - the bottling has won multiple medals from French wine competitions over the years. Jerome took over the family domaine in 2004 and farms with care; the wines are straightforward, well-made, and built around vivid red fruit and bright acidity. A Santenay that delivers serious Cote de Beaune pleasure without the price tag of the more famous villages to the north.

More about Jerome Fornerot

Domaine Jérôme Fornerot traditionally sold off their grapes to négociants. But because of all those Burgundy price hikes, it has finally become economically feasible for them to produce and bottle their own wines. In fact, they are now able to invest in a larger and better wine-making facility, promising even higher quality in the future.
