A big, bottle-conditioned imperial stout from Ridgeway Brewing in Oxfordshire, England, founded in 2002 by Peter Scholey—former head brewer at the renowned Brakspear brewery. Named after the ancient Ridgeway footpath that passes nearby. At 10% ABV, this is built for slow aging: jet-black, intensely roasted, with a vinous, almost sherry-like complexity that deepens over time. A contemplative beer, not a session beer.
