Dent de Chien sits on the slope above Le Montrachet itself, an extraordinarily tiny 1er Cru separated from the Grand Cru by little more than a road. Same chalky limestone, same southern exposure, just a few meters up the hill. 2023 was a generous, sun-soaked vintage that yielded white Burgundies with open-knit fruit and inviting flesh, and that warmth is on full display here. Expect a Dent de Chien that drinks well young while retaining the underlying tension of the site.

Returns & Exchanges

We stand behind every bottle we sell.

If the wine is less than 10 years old and it is corked, you may return it to us for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of purchase. You must show us proof of purchase. We understand that you may not live near a shop and that it is difficult to ship open bottles of wine to us, so if there's any problem feel free to Contact Us and we'll work it out.
For wines older than 10 years, the consumer bears the risk of a faulty cork, but we accept returns of older bottles if the wine is faulty as a result of improper storage. Please come by the store or Contact Us if there is a problem.
We may, at our discretion and to the extent permitted by law, accept returns of unopened wines within 30 days of purchase if they were properly stored by the purchaser, subject to a 15% re-stocking fee.

"The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Dent de Chien 1er Cru has a little more reduction on the nose compared to the En Remilly, as well as a tad more new oak (50% utilized here—Stockinger barrel). The palate is quite rounded on the entry. Here, I seek more grip and structure, but the acidity is nicely judged. It just doesn't quite muster the same mineralité as the La Romanée on the finish, but it will provide pleasant earlier-drinking Chassagne." —Neal Martin
